IRS Targets Pro-Life Organizations

Bradley Mattes   |   May 17, 2013

Washington, DC’s in a total uproar over the IRS harassing conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status—including pro-life organizations. The IRS tried to bully the Coalition for Life of Iowa into promising, in writing, they wouldn’t picket or protest outside Planned Parenthood or similar groups to get approved. A clear violation of their constitutional rights. The Christian Voices for Life of Fort Bend County, Texas were also victims. The IRS implied the pro-life group had to include the pro-abortion perspective to provide balance in order to get approved. But once an attorney got involved, the IRS backed off in both cases. Meanwhile, liberal groups have had their applications quickly sail through. This is a huge violation of government authority.
