There’s good reason Catholics and non-Catholics alike should be pleased with the recent election of Pope Francis. Most cardinals are on record when it comes to the life issues. As a cardinal, the new pope opposed abortion, even in the case of rape, and advocated the defense of life even if they “have you killed.” Pope John Paul and Pope Benedict appointed cardinals and bishops who hold strong pro-live views—a view accurately reflecting Catholic doctrine. This is important to all Americans because these appointed Catholic leaders will encourage the Catholic faithful to support unborn babies and their mothers in all circumstances, including voting for pro-life candidates. So be glad another pope stands strong for life. He’ll help us save more babies and their mothers from abortion.
