Canadian Physicians Fighting Euthanasia

Here’s some encouraging news from our friends up north in Canada. There’s an effort by the government in Quebec to legalized euthanasia through lethal injection. But a groundswell of physicians are standing up for life and opposing the move. Hundreds of doctors have signed a declaration stating the proposed law is “contrary to the goals of medicine and the good of our patients.” The wording of the law’s so vague and subjective; it’s nothing more than legal suicide. My friend, Alex Schandenberg, who heads up an effort to stop it, said proponents “can’t change the criminal law [so] they’re going to call euthanasia a “medical treatment” and say it’s legal because it’s a “treatment.” My friend, efforts to legalize this type of killing are in the US also, so be on your guard.
