Unborn Victims of 9/11

We all remember the victims who died on 9/11 by terrorist attacks. Last year a moving memorial was dedicated at Ground Zero with all of the names of the victims etched in bronze around two beautiful pools. But many people may not know 11 unborn babies were also victims. The phrase “and her unborn child” follows each of the names of the expectant mothers who died. Monica was killed her last day of work before maternity leave. Patricia just found out that morning she was pregnant. She and her husband cried tears of joy before she left for work at the World Trade Center. It’s heartwarming to see the acknowledgement of the smallest victims of 9/11. They too are mourned. Their deaths will leave a permanent hole in the hearts of those they left behind.
