Organ Donation Abuse

Earlier I told you about a Texas mom whose young son, Zach, was shot in the head by crossfire from a drug deal. The doctor withdrew his food and water and added a do not resuscitate order without the parents’ knowledge. He then asked them to donate Zach’s organs. The parents took him to another hospital where he is now talking and getting physical therapy. It’s believed he will make a full recovery. I don’t oppose organ donation, but I’m reading about more instances when it is used at the peril of the injured patient. Some doctors are making quality of life judgments and pressuring parents to consent to organ donation. Increasing evidence shows those who might have recovered were given up for dead. Please be watchful if your loved one is in a similar situation.
