MD in Hot Water for Sharing Faith

Richard Scott is something many patients desperately want and need to have——a good Christian doctor. At the end of a private consultation with a patient, Dr. Scott shared his faith as a way to help. Unfortunately, the good doctor practices in the United Kingdom where Christianity is held in even lower regard than here. The General Medical Council, which has power over all doctors there, is going after Dr. Scott in secret hearings. And they’ve specifically refused to allow a representative of the Christian Legal Centre to attend and represent him. Is this the direction American society is going? Will our doctors be punished for sharing their faith, say, in counseling a young pregnant woman on abortion? I see a steady erosion of support for Christianity. We must continually be on guard.
