World Down Syndrome Day

Bradley Mattes   |   March 21, 2012

Today’’s a very special and important day. It’s World Down Syndrome Day. Down syndrome occurs when during fertilization we receive three copies of chromosome number 21. Thus we celebrate this day on the 21st day of the third month. I say celebrate because people with Down syndrome are a blessing to those around them. Today countries around the world are observing this special day——even the United Nations. Tragically, up to 90 percent of parents choose abortion when they find out they’’re expecting a baby with Down syndrome. This day will help them realize they and their baby will be supported and accepted. So let everyone know what today is. And get more information about Down syndrome at today’’s broadcast link [see below] at life issues dot org.
