University Attack on Free Speech

For decades, universities have declared academic campuses are an environment for free speech. Now, liberal places of higher learning are carving out some exceptions. The University College London passed a motion officially declaring the campus pro-abortion. It dictates campus groups, even chaplaincies, have to invite pro-abortion speakers in equal numbers to pro-life events. Of course their goal isn’’t to have balanced speech; they’’re afraid people will hear the truth about abortion. Here’’s an example of how ridiculous the situation is. The University says events must invite both——and these are their words——“anti-choice” speakers as well as “pro-choice” speakers “to ensure balance.” This is nothing more than an effort to drive free pro-life speech from campus.
